Congratulations to Aleksander Rebane!
We are delighted to announce that Aleks, a junior BML member and postdoc in the Dufresne Lab at D-MATL, was awarded an Ambizione grant by SNSF.
The grant of 924 kCHF was awarded for the interdisciplinary project (Discipline Biophysics) titled “Golgi Physics and Architecture” and will run from now until the autumn of 2025. The goal of the project is to identify the physical and biochemical forces that lend Golgi membranes their unique shape and understand how the shape facilitates Golgi function.
The SNSF Ambizione grants allows promising young researchers to conduct their first independent project, which includes funding to hire a doctoral student who will be directly supervised by the Ambizione grantee.
The whole BML, very proudly, wishes Aleks much success in this new adventure!
